Privacy Policy

Article 1 (Basic Policy)

Footbolster, Inc. (the "Company") recognizes the importance of Users' personal information in providing the Service "Footbolster Competition," and handles personal information as set out below in compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws and regulations.

Article 2 (Information Collected)

In providing the Service, the Company may collect the following information:

  • Registration information such as name, affiliated organization name, email address, and phone number
  • Information necessary for competition operations, such as participating teams' player rosters, squad numbers, and uniform information
  • LINE user IDs and information necessary for LINE integration, obtained through the official LINE account
  • Payment-collection-related information (entry fee payment status, remittance account information, etc. Sensitive payment information such as card numbers is collected and managed directly by the affiliated payment provider, Stripe, and is not retained by the Company.)
  • Log information relating to use of the Service (access date and time, IP address, device information, etc.)

Article 3 (Purpose of Use)

The Company uses collected personal information for the following purposes:

  • To provide, maintain, protect, and improve the Service
  • To support competition operations, including entry acceptance, fixture generation, match record management, and standings creation
  • To send various notifications by email and LINE (entry results, approval requests, deadline alerts, etc.)
  • For procedures relating to entry fee payment collection (collection, remittance, and refund handling)
  • To respond to inquiries
  • To respond to acts that violate the Terms of Service
  • To make necessary contact regarding important notices relating to the Service

Article 4 (Provision to Third Parties)

  1. Except as required by law, the Company will not provide personal information to third parties without first obtaining the individual's consent.
  2. Information relating to Participating Teams and players entered into the Service by a Competition Organizer (names, squad numbers, match results, etc.) may, given the nature of the competition, be made publicly available in the form of standings or otherwise. The Competition Organizer is responsible for explaining such disclosure to Participating Teams in advance.

Article 5 (Outsourcing)

The Company may outsource all or part of the handling of personal information to outside parties to the extent necessary to achieve its purposes of use. Examples of such outsourced parties include:

  • Payment processing: Stripe, Inc. and its affiliates
  • Email delivery: Resend
  • Message delivery: LY Corporation (LINE Messaging API / LIFF)
  • Server and hosting: the Service's underlying infrastructure provider

The Company exercises appropriate oversight of its outsourced parties through agreements and other means.

Article 6 (External Transmission, Cookies, etc.)

The Company may use technologies such as cookies to improve the convenience of the Service and to analyze usage, among other purposes. Users may restrict the use of cookies through their browser settings, but doing so may make some functions of the Service unavailable.

Article 7 (Handling of Information through LINE Integration)

If a User adds the official LINE account "Footbolster support" as a friend and links their team or competition information with their LINE account via LIFF (LINE Front-end Framework), the Company obtains the User's LINE user ID to the extent necessary for such integration and uses it to send notifications, among other purposes. The handling of such information is also separately subject to the privacy policy of LY Corporation.

Article 8 (Handling of Payment Information)

Sensitive payment information such as credit card details relating to entry fee payment collection is collected and stored directly by the affiliated payment provider, Stripe, Inc., and is not stored on the Company's servers. The Company retains only the results of the payment process (success or failure, amount, remittance status, etc.).

Article 9 (Security Control Measures)

The Company takes necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss, or damage of personal information it has collected, and for other security control purposes. Specifically, the Company implements access controls (such as the use of Row Level Security), encryption of communications, and access authorization management.

Article 10 (Requests for Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, etc.)

Users may, in accordance with applicable law, request the disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, or suspension of use of their own personal information held by the Company. Please direct such requests to the contact point described in the following article. The Company will respond within a reasonable period after verifying the requester's identity.

Article 12 (Changes to this Privacy Policy)

The Company may revise this Policy as necessary. The revised Policy takes effect once it is posted on the Service.
